Like Father, Like son. Like mother, like daughter. Old adages, to be sure. But when viewed in the light of modern genetic research, the words take on a whole new level of meaning. Genetic theory would make it appear virtually impossible to escape the harmful tendencies of traits passed on from our ancestors, both behaviorally and physiologically. We are what our DNA makes us—or so the theory would have us believe.
Yet, many thinkers—spiritually-minded men and women—have come to a different conclusion: we are what God, divine Spirit, makes us to be. And our true individuality is entirely good, pure, whole. Who we are actually reflects God.
