Child's injured finger quickly healed

We were busily preparing to leave the house for a much-anticipated trip to the big playground in town. Our oldest daughter, always a huge help, had loaded the car and helped her sisters with their seatbelts. We laughed at ourselves darting in and out of the car as we prepared to leave.

After our last trip into the house, she jumped into the car triumphantly. However, as she closed the heavy door of our van with great exuberance, she caught one of the fingers of her other hand in the seal of the car door. She cried out in pain, and we moved quickly to open the door and free her finger.

Instinctively, I declared aloud the truth about any seeming injury, and told her: In God's eyes this never happened. God and His unceasing care for you and the entire family are all that is ever happening. Only blessing can happen, never harm.
