INSPIRED AND HEALED

One Wednesday night I was feeling exhausted and had a cold. I had been reading the Bible and some of the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, but I felt I needed more inspiration. The house was messy, but I felt so out of it, I couldn't have cared less about cleaning up. I went to church.

The subject of the First Reader's selections from the Bible and Science and Health was gratitude. Right away I started remembering past healings of mine, and how an expression of gratitude always lifted my spirit up and got me on the path to healing. The testimonies from other church members were uplifting and expressed what I was feeling. I went home bubbling; I was so inspired.

I walked into the house and started picking up stuff that wasn't in its right place. I helped my son with his homework, something I usually felt inadequate to do. We tackled writing, reciting, and pronunciations, things that I have become unfamiliar with, and therefore, reluctant to do. Then I washed a sinkful of dishes. While doing all this work, I couldn't wait to start reading Science and Health and the Bible, so that I could look up the great ideas that had come to me at church.
