Spiritual insight leads to much-needed home improvement

I have to cross a creek to leave my home. Until recently I didn't have a bridge because I couldn't afford one, so I had to ford the creek. After heavy rains I was often trapped by water raging strongly enough to block the ford. One day I was thinking about Christ Jesus' statement "Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: and yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these" (Matt. 6:28, 29). This statement made me realize that God's provision for His children is actually part of their identity. I saw that I shouldn't think of myself as lacking anything I truly needed. The Bible reveals that God makes man—the true identity of each of us—complete, spiritual, and perfect. Jesus consistently demonstrated this by demonstrating to the lame, the poor, the sinner, his or her present completeness as a child of God. I began to realize that as I claimed the truth of my perfect spiritual identity, I could expect my needs to be met completely.

This arrangement met my needs perfectly.
