INTRODUCTION TO THE BIBLE
סילחח is the Hebrew name for psalms or hymns. The book of Psalms is the hymnbook of the Bible. Sometimes this hymnbook is called the Psalter. Although it doesn't show musical notes for singing each psalm, the book of Psalms contains words sung, read, and prayed by Jewish and Christian people.
In the Psalter, God is portrayed as being like a king, judge, shepherd, father, mother, warrior, builder, keeper, a bird whose wings provide protection, and mountains that protect Jerusalem. Think of a name for God that makes you feel safe and write it below:
