To Our Readers

It doesn't take much to look around and see that there are serious moral issues confronting our world today. From the erosion of ethics in business and politics to the virtually amoral lifestyles depicted on many popular television programs, it seems that much of society is adrift without a working compass or an anchor. And our children, too, often get swept along with the tide.

What can parents do—what can any of us do, even if we're not parents—to help the younger generation find a safe way forward? Not only does the well-being of each child depend on an ability to recognize and obey moral laws, but so does the very future of our whole society.

When morality is undergirded with spiritual values and with the laws of God, it has real staying power and redeeming virtue. Parents today who are learning to pray and to guide their children from the basis of understanding God's laws are encouraged by the progress their children are making. The lessons learned are important to all of us.
