SPIRITUAL JOURNEYS

"I just had to see that book"

"I felt that there was something vital missing from my life."

I hadn't met him before, but his quiet, kindly demeanor drew my attention. There was something different about him. We were in the Air Force during World War II. I wanted to talk with him, but we were soon separated to attend to our different duties.

That evening when I entered the canteen for supper, I was pleased to see him sitting at a table alone, so I joined him. After a while I felt encouraged to confide in him that while recently spending time in a military hospital I had decided to search for God. Even if it took a lifetime, I was determined to find God.

I had thought deeply about this, and had concluded that there must be a different and more satisfying way of looking at life and solving its problems. I felt that there was something vital missing from my life.
