YOUR LETTERS

"I don't think strolling through the woods quite fulfills the idea of Earth Day...."

I must take issue with the use of the Sentinel to espouse personal political theories and beliefs as I feel you did in the Earth Day Sentinel (April 13). At times, the deification of nature by environmentalists seems evident in some of the ideas presented.

Isn't it beyond the commission of a Christian Science periodical to actively support politically motivated causes such as Earth Day and the conference on global warming in Kyoto? I am concerned that some politically motivated causes of some environmentalists are promoted as if they had not been challenged facts. I think the Sentinel needs to be very careful how such matters are presented.
