Heart trouble healed through prayer

Me, healed of a heart problem? ... I thought I didn't know enough about God to be healed. But, do you know what? I was!

A few years ago I tried to pray in Christian Science to remove a feeling of not being well. This feeling had lasted about a year. When I didn't get any better, I made an appointment with a doctor. He told me my heart muscle had been damaged by a virus. I left his office and went directly to the hospital for additional testing. The hospital sent me home with medication, strict instructions on how to live, and a great deal of fear.

Since I had attended a Christian Science church all of my life, I knew that God was with me and that I was His perfect image. Right then I determined I would not accept this diagnosis as the truth about me. Encouraging thoughts came to mind—I am God's perfect child; God is my Life; God is the only power! My fear was so great, however, that I continued taking the medication. Then, I heard a Christian Science lecturer tell how he had been healed of a heart problem. I thought, "If he can be healed, why can't I?"
