To Our Readers
When a Friend of mine graduated from college, he spent his first few years in the workforce moving from job to job. He didn't have any clear sense of direction. He didn't really know what he wanted to do with his life. But he needed to earn a living, so he took whatever work he could find.
Along the way, though, he began to consider that God might actually have a purpose for him. He prayed, and he started to look at how his life could be of some service to others. This changed the whole way he thought about work, jobs, career. It also changed his career, and he found new work that truly had a deep sense of purpose and value.
In the Sentinel this week, you'll see a number of articles and features that tell how the authors worked through various challenges at times when direction, purpose, and a new view of their lives and their relationship to God were needed. You'll find articles on how prayer provides specific guidance, on overcoming stereotypes in career, on feeling God's help and care in any circumstance, on discovering a spiritual sense of home no matter where you are. I found it inspiring to read this week's issue. We hope you will, too.
