SCIENCE AND HEALTH—THE MOST IMPORTANT TEXTBOOK I OWN

I have a background in engineering, and I'm familiar with textbooks. Whether it's the heat retention of a wall, the hydraulic resistance of a pipe, or the structural integrity of a bridge, I know I can turn to textbooks and find the answers I need.

But to me, the most important textbook is Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, because it deals with the laws of Life, God. It shows me that my being is not governed and determined by material circumstances, by other people, or by luck (or the absence of it).

My senses might tell me otherwise. But they start from the premise that life is in matter. Science and Health explains why life must be and is spiritual. This book shows scientifically that God is man's Life and that God is Love, supplying man continuously with everything he needs. Through Science and Health everyone can understand the scientific basis of Jesus' teachings and how to apply them.
