Christian Science treatment ends addiction to smoking
I began smoking as a teenager. I guess I thought it was cute and smart. A few years later, when I found Christian Science, I was smoking a pack of cigarettes a day.
Christian Science opened a whole new world to me, and I loved it. I wanted to join the church and be a part of this wonderful movement. But I was still smoking. I had discussed this with a Christian Science practitioner, and she encouraged me to continue my study and prayer, feeling that with spiritual growth the smoking would naturally drop away. But that didn't happen immediately.
When I told her I really wanted to join the church, she agreed to treat me through prayer. And she did! It was as though someone took an eraser and removed every thought of cigarettes and smoking from my consciousness. I never smoked again. I never wanted to smoke, never thought about smoking or cigarettes. I was so grateful that I was free to join the church and to go forward with a life of service to this beloved Cause.
