Little did I know, while trimming large rhododendrons in a...
Little did I know, while trimming large rhododendrons in a client's yard, that I would disturb a hornets' nest. I immediately wished I could apologize to the swarm that engulfed me! Instead I ran away, looking for some place to hide, rolled through bushes to rub them off, whacked at them with my gloves, and finally raced down a grassy hillside until they disappeared.
Only then did I do some really clear thinking and praying. I acknowledged God's presence right there with His wonderful creations, man and bugs. Forgiveness, humbleness, trust in God, and safety flowed into my thinking. When I counted the sting marks on my body, though, I was shaken. Once I had calmed somewhat, a co-worker helped me pack up, and we left the work site and headed home.
