Eternal Comforter

In the town square with crowds gazing,
In the synagogue with hypocrites glaring,
In the home with cynics laughing,
Christ Jesus healed
The sick, the maimed, the dying.

Burdens were lifted; false, material laws defied;
Man unencumbered, no more denied
Knowledge of true selfhood eternally allied
To God's dear law—
Spiritual sonship forever identified!

Three years' work, and his teachings—the Christ, Truth—remain. He, the Way-shower, makes plain
For frightened wanderers the way home again
To the Science of Christ, See Science and Health 55:15–29 . eternal Comforter,
Healer, now, of sickness, sorrow, and pain.
