Prayer that heals
I Spent many years in college and theology school learning how to preach and become a minister, but at that time I didn't learn the true meaning of prayer. During the seven years I served as a minister, it became evident to me that something was missing in my attempts to pray. I didn't feel my prayers were getting through to God. So I began an aggressive search to learn how to pray. It was during this time that I found Christian Science.
My introduction to Christian Science was dramatic. Two members of my congregation had been diagnosed with cases of stomach cancer that were pronounced incurable. The doctors had given up hope and advised the families that the early death of their loved ones inevitable.
One of the men, who relied on medical treatment, died soon after the diagnosis. The other man's wife had a good friend who was a Christian Scientist. The friend suggested she contact a Christian Science practitioner for information and possible help. The wife did so, and she and her husband chose to dismiss the doctors and to rely wholly on Christian Science treatment.
