I am very happy and grateful to God for having had the opportunity to know about Christian Science since I was little. During all those years there were many healings that I experienced which attest to the healing power of the Christ, so well explained in Science and Health.

I would like to relate three healings that had special significance in my life and that of my family. All of them made clear to me that radical reliance on the power of scientific prayer brings results, and we can be sure that it is at hand at any hour, in any place.

When the children were on vacation during the summer, we always moved to the beach. On one occasion when we were there, two days before Christmas I woke feeling dizzy and very ill. My husband took charge of the children so that I could pray quietly. I wanted to read Science and Health, but my eyes couldn't focus on anything. Since it was necessary for my husband to leave to go to work, I asked him to take me to the telephone booth so that I could call a Christian Science practitioner. (In our beach house we don't have a telephone.) When I was able to talk with a practitioner, she reminded me of the marvelous gift that we received two thousand years ago: the coming of Christ Jesus, who exemplified Christ and showed us the Way by revealing man's true sonship with God. We talked briefly about the power of healing that Jesus taught and about the healings that are happening today thanks to the Science of Christianity.
