"Man in Science is neither young nor old"*
Think not your childlikeness a once-visited "place,"
a memorable time set back apace,
just a stage long since erased.
It's within! You express it!
It's spiritually based.
Here and now. It has never faded;
that virgin trust in good—unjaded;
you, of God's love created,
not formed of embryo, finite and dated.
You—of original innocence, purity
(native to Christ, Truth, not mortal infancy)—
are God's eternal child, unadulterated, free.
Yours is the understanding, the radiant grace—
infinite maturity to "run ... the race." **
You—God's ageless offspring,
His reflection,
face to face.
*Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health, p. 244. ** See Heb. 12:1.
