Can God be a copilot?
A Car cut in front of me, and I noticed the bumper sticker: "God is my copilot." For a moment, I marveled. Could God be relegated to second-in-command?
God is not a distant personality who is to be called upon only at critical moments to help us head in the right direction. God is omnipresent Spirit, the source of all law. His guidance, like the law of harmony in music, leads to order, not discord. He is divine Mind, and man is the conscious expression of Mind, who by nature fulfills God's will.
If we seem separated from God, we can listen in prayer and let His spiritual law take precedence in our thoughts. Such prayer grows from the desires expressed in the words "Thy will be done" and "Thank you, Father." The all-knowing does not need our petitions to instruct Him about our needs and wants, but as we quiet thought in order to hear Him, we feel the power of God, lifting our desires, enabling us to perceive the divine good, already at hand.
