School in safety
When our daughter was to be bused to a school in another district, downtown, I inquired about it. Yes, the teaching was done well, but discipline problems were plentiful. One parent who lives in the district was driving her children to another school. "I would be afraid to put my little girl on that playground," she said.
I thought of changing schools, too, but realized that, at this point, such action would have been based on fear, and it wouldn't necessarily provide my daughter with safety. I thought of Christ Jesus. He proved life to be safe in God, Spirit. Hatred and ignorance couldn't touch his life, because he understood it to be spiritual. Jesus' actions were impelled by God, Love, not fear.
So I stopped listening to and rehearsing the stories about this school and instead let divine Love guide my thought. I decided to pursue a spiritual view of education and safety.
