A MESSAGE FROM A TEENAGER

God blesses you and your school environment

It was the beginning of the year, and I was at a new public high school. I was at a Wednesday night rehearsal for the school play when I had to leave in a big hurry in order to get home. In the rush, I left behind my brand-new winter jacket. I failed to discover this until long after the school was locked up for the night. The next day also happened to be the beginning of a school break, so I was unable to get into the school and retrieve my jacket for a few days.

First thing after vacation, I went to the rehearsal area, but my coat was nowhere to be found. I checked with the offices and with "lost and found" for about three days. All the people in the office said, "You know, we never get things that expensive returned," and "It's gone, and there's really no chance you'll ever get it back." I was surprised at how hopeless everyone was. I decided to pray.

That night I sat down and opened a booklet from the Christian Science Reading Room. I looked at one particular article and realized that the environment the booklet was talking about wasn't only oceans, trees, rivers, and stuff like that, but the mental atmosphere around you. I saw how this pertained to my school environment. I found a wealth of truthful statements about my environment.
