I am reminded of a healing I experienced four years ago, while we were in Alaska. We were in the first week of a six-week trip and, in a few days, were to meet some friends in Anchorage for a week full of activities.

My husband and I were walking on an easy trail that led to a waterfall, outside of Juneau. My husband was walking a short way ahead when I began to experience difficulty walking. Suddenly, putting any pressure on one foot was very painful. My first concern was for all the plans we had made. It went something like this: "Oh, no! What are we going to do if I can't walk." Recognizing that this was a suggestion to reject, I affirmed that the events planned were an expression of good and that none of us could be deprived of the expression of good in our experience.

When I again tried to walk, the pain seemed to intensify. I wondered: "This must be serious. What could cause such pain so suddenly?" It was clear that this was another suggestion to reject. There is only one cause—God, good. I could not be tempted to bow down to material theories and look for another cause.
