Glory

Too bad, they said.
There's no glory for you
In service unsung.
No one will know what you did.

Glory? I wondered ...
Could praised personal deeds
Match even a glimpse
Of the creation that is God's?

In unheralded giving
Divested of self,
Honoring not creatures of flesh
But His spiritual man freshly seen,

Is glory enough.

The vision unveiled, His order grown clear,
All heaven and earth
Are found shining with light.
