Spiritual reality: a sure defense against contagious disease
There's a thought-provoking question that asks us to consider the new heaven and new earth described in Revelation, the last book in the Bible. "Have you ever pictured this heaven and earth, inhabited by beings under the control of supreme wisdom?" asks Mary Baker Eddy, the author of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures (p. 91).
"Being under the control of supreme wisdom." Is such a reality possible? If so, does it have a bearing on our lives today? Life in God, supreme harmony, is actually the truth of our being, and we can perceive it through prayer that yields to an understanding of God's nature and ever-presence. Through this understanding comes protection from and healing of contagious disease.
In infinite divine Mind, the basis of all spiritual reality, there is no destructive element. The oneness of Mind as infinite Love, and the unity of God and man as His spiritual idea, or image, preclude evil. All that God creates is within Him, safe in the harmony of His being.
