Dear Sentinel

From children and young people

Dear Sentinel,

One day I had little warts on the bottom of my foot. My mom and I wanted to pray about it. We prayed for quite some time, but they didn't go away, so we called a Christian Science practitioner to pray with us. My mom gave me pads for my foot, so it wouldn't hurt when I wore my shoes and jumped around at gym class. The pads kind of helped, but my foot still sometimes hurt.

I read lots of children's articles in the Christian Science Sentinel and also some letters to "Dear Sentinel," and I got lots of good ideas to pray with. I knew God was with me. I thought about Love, and all the love around me. There was a poem I cut out of the Sentinel, and I framed it on my wall. I learned it, and I got a lot of good ideas from it that I took with me to school and gym class. It said, "Every second of every day ... Love's right here" (see "How close is God?" Sentinel, June 6, 1994).
