A resurrection for you—walk free!
"The Lord is risen indeed, and
hath appeared to Simon."
Luke 24:34
Oh! the wonder of that resurrection—
bolstering Peter's faltering faith,
supplying what he needed:
strengthening his trust,
bringing him back to the fellowship
of the disciples,
undergirding his work,
overshining his mission.
Oh, what a resurrection!
What is the resurrection that you need—
do you feel buried in grief,
or engulfed in sin,
or are you laboring under the heavy weight of sickness?
Whatever seems your tomb
(no matter how cold or dark or apparently closed),
the door is open (no heavy stone).
Through Jesus' saving way—
Christ's, Truth's, renewing, restoring power—
see your freedom at hand.
The spiritualization of your thought,
a higher, and yes! new idea
of your real selfhood,
will yield material belief
to spiritual understanding,
bringing resurrection.
