Since I am very active in sports and have been in gymnastics...
Since I am very active in sports and have been in gymnastics for nearly ten years, I have had many opportunities to practice what I have learned in Sunday School. I have had healings of injuries to my elbow, knee, foot, and finger that threatened to keep me from participating.
A few months ago when I was attending a camp, I woke up one morning unable to move my elbow. That day was going to be full of sports activities that I was looking forward to. From previous healings I had the confidence to turn directly to God and pray, even though I felt afraid. Holding to the Lord's Prayer and quietly singing "O gentle presence" (these are the opening words of a hymn written by Mary Baker Eddy, No. 207), I got up and was able to participate in all the events that day.
When I got home there had been a lot of progress with my elbow, but I was still afraid I wouldn't be able to participate the following day in gymnastics. I had just been selected for the varsity team, and didn't want to let them down.
