I have seen and experienced many healings that have come from the practice of Christian Science, but one will always be a source of great inspiration.
I was on an overnight outing to a lake home. When I woke in the morning, I listened to a tape of the Christian Science Bible Lesson as I often do, and was grateful for the opportunity to be out of doors with good friends. But at breakfast I felt something was wrong—my teeth seemed to be out of place, and eating was not entirely natural. Before leaving the house I phoned a Christian Science practitioner who knew where I was, and asked her to pray for me.
It was not until I arrived back home late that afternoon that I saw my face in a mirror, and realized that I was dealing with facial paralysis. But I had been claiming man's spiritual perfection as the reflection of God! I turned away from the picture in the mirror and refused to accept paralysis as the truth of my spiritual, perfect identity.
