Supporting The Mother Church right where you are

As the Science of Christianity becomes more appreciated, it's inevitable that the membership of Mary Baker Eddy's Church, spreading the message of the healing mission of this Science, become more international. But if members live far from The Mother Church—The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston—and especially if they live outside the United States, does their support for The Mother Church and its world outreach make a practical difference? The answer is a resounding "Yes!"

Clearly, Mrs. Eddy envisioned a church that girdled the globe. Indeed, the spiritual concept of Church she describes in Science and Health shows that she saw Church as more than international. She saw it as universal. She begins her description, "The structure of Truth and Love; whatever rests upon and proceeds from divine Principle" (p. 583).

Wherever you are and whether or not you are a member of The Mother Church, you can feel this spiritual idea of Church supporting you and so be enabled to support The Mother Church in manifesting this true idea of Church. In a sense, The Mother Church continues to be established wherever the teachings of Christian Science are being practiced. Physical proximity to the building of The Mother Church can neither help nor hinder this practice, nor can it help or hinder one's contribution to the fulfillment of its universal mission.
