On a recent trip to Arkansas, I drove a truck loaded with most of my belongings to put into a new house we had built next door to my sister's house. The trip was lovely and I was very grateful to have made it in good weather. The sights I saw across the country showed how each state is unique in its natural beauty.

I was very happy when I finally arrived at my sister's house, after four days on the road. We started work on the house the following morning, and for the next several days I painted the rooms with my brother-in-law's help. On the night I was to sleep in my new bedroom for the first time, I gathered up a few things (actually my arms were loaded), and off into a rainy night from my sister's house to mine. My feet went out from under me as I stepped outside, and I landed on one arm as I tried to break my fall on a pile of building materials.

Unable to get up for a few moments, I reached out to God, praying. My sister had seen me fall, and helped me up as soon as I could stand. We went back into her house and immediately started to pray, remembering this: "Accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind, and we must leave the mortal basis of belief and unite with the one Mind, in order to change the notion of chance to the proper sense of God's unerring direction and thus bring out harmony" (Science and Health, p. 424).
