My conviction was growing as retirement approached that my comfortable home of the past thirty-five years should be occupied by a young family rather than a single person. In a copy of the Sentinel I found a statement that perfectly expressed my feelings: "I asked God what I should do with the rest of my life and to lead me there."
Proverbs 3:5, 6 tells us: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all they ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct they paths." As I learned to listen and to trust God with my plans, He certainly did show me what to do and where I should go.
The September after I left my position as a school librarian, I crossed the country to spend a month at the home of a high-school friend. Since I had previously visited the friendly Christian Science church in her area, I located the Reading Room and asked the librarian for a ride to the midweek testimony meeting.
