FOR CHILDREN
James helps out
One day Mom came to pick me up from a friend's house. When we were walking home, she said she didn't feel well. As soon as we were in our house, Mom lay down on the sofa. My little sister Anna and I were hungry, so Mom asked me to find a snack that we could share.
We had fun. I used a step stool to get the snack. I picked out some cottage cheese and found a spoon. Anna thought it was funny to have me feed her, and we laughed a lot.
Soon we were thirsty. It was hard to get cups because they are in a cabinet way up high. I went into the living room to ask Mom for some help, but she still couldn't get up. Back in the kitchen, I found clean cups in the dishwasher. While I fixed our drinks, I remembered how Mom looked. She needed help, too.
