I was working in the Federal Government Ministry in Lagos...
I was working in the Federal Government Ministry in Lagos when a Christian Scientist introduced me to Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy. I went to purchase the book from a Christian Science Reading Room located near my workplace.
I eagerly commenced reading the book, but, believe me, I could not comprehend its message. As a matter of fact, I thought that the book was written in poor English, and I used to underline passages that did not make sense to me. However, the fruitage section at the end of the book was very encouraging, and I was confident that the book could heal me, too. I had been having physical ills that doctors could not treat successfully, and was frustrated with life.
After a few months of persistent study, passages which I had underlined earlier would stand out so clearly, their spiritual meaning now revealed. Indeed truth is a revelation. I could then see the beauty of the language in which the book was written. Nightmares that had plagued me ceased, and I was healed of all the long-standing physical problems. My intellect became sharper and this helped me to pursue my academic goals.
