Some time ago I was placed in charge of a Christian Science Sunday School class. In preparing for one Sunday's lesson, I read in the Bible, "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God" (I Cor. 2:12). The thought appealed to me so much that I wanted to share it where it with my Sunday School group.

As if in a long chain, the thoughts strung themselves together, and the class added to one huge "gift package" some of God's freely given things. At the end of the class, we unpacked our package to look at everything once more. Inside it we found: friendship, protection, joy, love, and much more that seemed important to us. As we were looking at everything this way, we recognized how very much the Father loves us by giving us such wonderful things, and we were grateful and happy.

In the following week I had a complicated project to complete by a specific deadline, involving separate steps of work. I had the uncertain feeling that perhaps I'd overlooked something. In the midst of the work, the thought came to me repeatedly that logical thinking was not exactly my strong point. Nonetheless I had to organize the work in such a way that it would be finished by the deadline.
