Reaching out to God for our answers
My friend was a devout Christian woman, wholly dedicated to helping others. She leaned on God as her Father, ready to help her at every turn.
One especially challenging day (and there were many), she felt heavy-laden, misunderstood, and rejected. Sitting beside her, I could sense how dark was the cloud of discouragement hanging in the atmosphere.
While I watched, loving her, she reached her hand forward into space as if seeking God's reassurance. "Are You there?" she asked Him, and her voice was full of longing. Then she sat back and was quiet.
