Can you measure God?
The Bible commands: "Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in meteyard, in weight, or in measure. Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt" (Lev. 19:35, 36).
We do not think of a hin very often, nor of an ephah or an omer. These are the names of weights and measures that were used by the ancient Hebrews. We have different terms today for determining amounts, lengths, weights, heights, depths, and distances. But the purpose is the same—to be equitable and accurate. We are careful to measure correctly and to use the form of measurement that properly applies to the object being measured. Cherries are seldom measured by length, or light by the pound! If the measurements does not apply, the results cannot be meaningful or valid.
God, divine Spirit, cannot be measured by volume, length, or duration; nor can He be carried away in a barrel. Spirit is infinite and immortal; it cannot be measured by days or years, depth or height.
