I was raised in a family that practiced Christian Science, and I don't remember any other form of healing. There were many instantaneous healings, and also healings that took longer.
My father had been allowed to attend a Christian Science Sunday School after two aunts were healed of paralysis and pneumonia. He introduced my mother to the religion, but the teachings were so different from what she knew that she found it difficult to accept, until I was brought back to life after apparently passing on at a time of sudden illness.
