Aspirations
We have aspired to many things—
Some of which we've gained.
And, yes, some—aligned with good—have smoothed our lives.
For this, we thank You, God.
But we have also learned
That things alone are often vain,
And really mean but little in this life.
For this understanding, we praise You, God.
And now we know but one thing
Fulfills, and is thus worth aspiring to:
To love and serve You only.
In this, we thank You, God.
