"A young man came into my office a few years ago," a Christian Science practitioner told us. "He clearly wasn't feeling well and as he asked for help, he mentioned that he'd spent the afternoon shoplifting."
The practitioner said he was silent for a moment, listening for God's guidance. Then he quietly told the young man, "I can't help you until you return everything you've taken." This was followed by a burst of anger and a slammed door as the teenager left his office.
But the practitioner kept turning to God in prayer, trusting His guidance. Several hours later the man came back, already feeling much better. He had returned what he had stolen, and they began rejoicing in the healing power that comes from doing the right thing.
Ethics, integrity, honesty.
Aren't these what we are all yearning to see? There is more about this inside this week's Sentinel.
