Four years ago my husband and I were going with a friend to the theatre. After we parked the car, I fell while crossing the road. I immediately began to pray and walked the rest of the way to the theatre, but this was difficult because of pain in my foot. I affirmed to myself that spiritual man is unfallen and that "under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection" (Science and Health). As I prayed to understand these statements of spiritual truth, the pain subsided, and I was able to enjoy the performance.
However, returning to the car was difficult, and by the time we reached home I was unable to put any weight on the foot, and it was difficult to get into a comfortable position. Many helpful passages from the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings came to thought, including these words from her "Communion Hymn":
