"Fear is wasted energy"
Through reliance on God, you can gain dominion over fear and face even the severest challenges with healing results.
Original in German
This statement has been occupying my thought ever since a friend of mine made it: "Fear is wasted energy." How much anguish could be avoided if the "energy guzzler" of fear disappeared from our lives? If we want to stop wasting energy in worry and concern, we can turn to God. Learning about divine Spirit, God, as the one omniacting power takes away anxiety and puts our trust in something totally reliable—infinite Love, God.
Christ Jesus, the Founder of Christianity, knew the omnipotence of divine Love to be the only genuine force. That is why fear could not deceive him. In his life and ministry he overcame fear in all its forms. During a stormy boat trip he was the only one who slept peacefully, as is reported in the Gospel of Mark. When the frightened disciples woke Jesus with the cry "Master, carest thou not that we perish?" he caused the wind to cease and then responded, "Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?" The presence of the Christ, Truth, as lived by Jesus, stilled the storm at sea and calmed his friends' thoughts.
