Bright, shining spiritual armor

Combatting terrorism—at home or abroad— isn't frightening or burdensome when our weapons come from God.

The recent bombing at the World Trade Center in New York City, and other terrorist acts in India and elsewhere, remind us that we cannot ignore the problems of disenfranchised people around the world. Yet neither do we need to become victims or to sit passively by as others suffer. To gain freedom for ourselves and others from frightening, oppressive conditions demands something of us, but our efforts offer the reward of peace and liberty.

The "something" demanded of us is vigilant, intelligent prayer; devoted reliance on God, divine Mind; and expectation that His government does and will prevail. Christ Jesus prayed in this way, and his followers, who faced many terrible dangers, learned from experience to know God in this way also.
