Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits...
"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies." These words from Psalm 103 have prompted me to glorify God through writing a testimony of gratitude for benefits I've received from Him— benefits I will never forget.
During my early teens I often experienced cramps on the first day of my menstrual period. I prayed often to be relieved of this discomfort. During the summer between my sophomore and junior years of high school, I was permanently healed of this problem through my own prayers.
Three girlfriends and I had planned a weekend at the beach. We were to leave late on a Friday afternoon. Early that day I experienced these cramps. I went about the day helping my mother with housework and prayed as I worked. When I was done, I sat down to read a Sentinel. One of the articles quoted Genesis: "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." I recalled how a Sunday School teacher had strongly impressed upon our class the importance and value of this verse, reiterating that God saw only perfection. Anything imperfect is not of God, and we have a divine right to reject it mentally and experience healing.
