Valuing our intellect
(part one)
Bea Roegge: Today we're calling our program "Valuing our intellect." It's a subject of interest and importance to many, and through our discussion we hope we'll gain some real insights into how we can all express more intelligence than we do.
We'll be speaking with two distinguished guests: Dr. Elaine Follis, professor of religion, Bible scholar, former chair of the Biblical Hebrew Poetry Section of the Society of Biblical Literature, listed in Who's Who in Religion in America; and Jim Bencivenga, educator, education writer and editor, and a former senior official in the United States Department of Education during President Ronald Reagan's second term.
Elaine, can we value our intellect today, when there is so much computer knowledge and other types of artificial and electronically assisted "intelligence" in use?
