My experience as a teacher has shown me the tremendous healing power of God, the practical value of listening to Him and letting His love and truth communicate to my students. In one of my classes a group of students was rowdy at times. Many gangs were in the community. Indications in this class showed that some of the pupils were in a gang. ...

As I listened to God more, I found that the kids listened to me more. ... One girl in this class was quite boisterous and very disturbing to me and the other students. I prayed about this situation. ... I was supposed to call the girl's parents to comply with school rules. Their phone was not working. ... Through prayer, I decided that, in this case, it was more important for me to reach the girl through God's direction and by listening to her, rather than to try to control or change the girl's behavior humanly. The next morning I prayed diligently before the class arrived. ...
