Looking back over the more than fifty years in which Christian Science has blessed me, I realize that I have never recorded in writing some of the healing experiences I've witnessed.
Our family found the study of Christian Science through my mother, whose dissatisfaction with other religious systems led her, through much effort and searching, to a Christian Science practitioner. Her pursuit of the truth resulted in a more enlightened study of the Bible in conjunction with the writings of Mary Baker Eddy. I began attending a Christian Science Sunday School when a small boy.
When he was a teenager, my brother fell out of a window and onto a gravel path. My father insisted that a doctor examine him, although no medication was actually given. He remained unconscious for four days. A Christian Science practitioner prayed for him, with the result that he was up and about on the fifth day and played and active role in a stage play on the sixth day. It took nothing further to convince my father of the effectiveness of prayer through Christian Science.
