Our ministry and the lifting of burdens

If we've been feeling burdened, a closer study of the Gospels can point the way to healing and a deeper sense of purpose.

Are you too busy? We may sometimes feel that we are carrying the weight of the whole world on our shoulders—or at the very least the weight of our family.

Christ Jesus said compassionately, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls" (Matt. 11:28, 29). Jesus was not giving us another thing to add to our busy schedule; he was pointing out the way to lift burdens and find fulfillment in our days.

Jesus exemplified the Christ, the divine influence in human consciousness, revealing man as the spiritual offspring of God. In truth, man's life is the expression of divine Life. He expresses the fullness of God's nature. Building each day on the basis of this Christly understanding enables us to engage in a healing ministry of loving God and loving our neighbor. This brings us under the control of the divine law of Life. It lifts burdens.
