To the Christian Science Church of Boston
At the end of summer, a teenage girl in a black T-shirt came into the lobby of the Church Administration building and dropped off the following poem. We thought it might warm your hearts as it did ours.
The
"sprinklers" is a cool, magical place where children relieve themselves of the hot summer days.
With caring guards, who were there many years ago from my childhood, that protect the children.
It's like a magical water kingdom. Inside, all the children are your friends no matter who you are.
When you come in the early morning or later in the afternoon, you can be the owner of your
own water castle of peace in a city that doesn't seem to care. This is your center of peace.
From the children of the city of Boston,
we say
"Thanks"
with our hearts.
See you next summer!
