How often have you heard or read the words health care in the last twelve months? The media have been full of statistics, examples, opinions, and voices. With such a high cost, both to the economy and to people's personal lives, it's of little wonder that the issue has been placed under such a glaring spotlight.
Since health care is so vital, the needs of our world's population must be approached wisely and responsibly. This cannot be done adequately, however, unless there is a broader recognition of Christian healing—of treatment based on prayer. People have depended successfully upon prayer for thousands of years. The power of God was wonderfully illustrated, for example, when Christ Jesus healed a boy who today might be judged to be epileptic or autistic (see Luke 9:38–42).
The following pages contain contemporary examples of Christian healing—a system of healing that can be successfully practiced without being abused, depleted, or bankrupted. Why? Because Christian healing is based entirely on the unlimited, universal power of God and His unfailing love for all His creation.
