About seven years ago I learned of Christian Science by reading Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Although I was only eighteen years old, I realized that I had found the truth. I devoured the book, reading it from cover to cover in just two days, underlining passages that touched my heart the most. I still remember some of these passages today, so great was the impact they had on me. One was: "Man is spiritual and perfect; and because he is spiritual and perfect, he must be so understood in Christian Science. Man is idea, the image, of Love; he is not physique." This is from Mrs. Eddy's spiritual description of man.
I could find no error in this book but rather saw a fundamental and rigorously exact logic, such as we see in mathematics, and I felt I had found something that satisfied me completely.
Since the time I was a child I had longed for answers to questions I frequently asked myself, such as:
