New appointment

We are pleased to announce that Harry Schiering of Atlanta, Georgia, has been appointed a Trustee of The Christian Science Publishing Society. Mr. Schiering joins Anthony Periton, C.S.B., of Kingston upon Thames, England, and Hallock G. Davis of Newport Beach, California, on the Board of Trustees.

After serving in the United States military throughout Europe during the Second World War, Mr. Schiering began a career in banking. In 1963 he was appointed senior auditor for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, and from 1968 until 1989 he served as the senior vice-president and general auditor responsible for the internal auditing of the Sixth Federal Reserve District, which includes the southeastern United States.

Mr. Schiering is a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Decatur, Georgia, where he has served as President, First Reader, and as a member of the Executive Board. He is married to Geraldine Schiering, C.S.B., a Christian Science practitioner, teacher, and lecturer.
